Bandung Regency is a regency in West Java province, Indonesia. The capital is Soreang. The county is bordered by West Bandung regency, Bandung, Cimahi, and Sumedang in the north, Garut regency in east and south, West Bandung regency in the west and south of the Cianjur Regency.
Since the year 2007, based on Law Number 12 Year 2007, is separated into districts and the District of Bandung Regency Bandung West (with its capital at Ngamprah). Appointed as Plt. Regent West Bandung are Drs. Tjatja Kuswara.
Bandung regency consists of 31 districts, which are subdivided into 277 villages / wards (post-split). Government center is located in District Soreang.
Most of the Bandung area is the mountains. Among the peaks are: the north lies Mount Bukittunggul (2200 m), Mount Tangkubanperahu (2076 m) on the border with Purwakarta Regency. (Both are now included in West Bandung regency). While in the south lies Mount Patuha (2334 m), Mount Malabar (2321 m), and the volcano (2262 m) and Gunung Guntur (2249 m), both on the border with Garut regency.
